Zephyr's owner writes that they braved the winter weather in December 2014 to get in some indoor arena work over the holidays, but sub-zero temps are settling in so they will be taking a break. Deb says "Z is a furry hobbit, but she's a cute pony and winning the hearts of all who meet her."
Deborah Birr reports that Zephyr made it through the Missouri winter with no need for blankets, that "she's learning to balance and carry herself and I'm quite pleased with her progress. She's relaxed, forward, on flat and over cavaletti and cross-rails. She's got a good brain and is beginning to work for praise and to come in when whistled for (always a good sign!) She's looking good. Am quite pleased. She didn't bat an eye the first time I climbed aboard, was rather bored and somewhat baffled by the whole affair. Walked quietly around, decided this was yet another human behavior that she was expected to humor and is no longer surprised at anything she's asked to do." Deborah is considering attending the Region 7 show which is a 5 hour drive for her.
Paradox Zephyr was purchased in September 2013 by Deborah Birr of Easton Missouri (north of Kansas City). She shipped out without batting an eyelash, and is off to a good start with ground work and keeping in her own space and learning to be respectful to her elders (companion pony). Deb plans to use her for dressage and breed her in time and the local ACPS members are eager to have another member and another pony in that neighborhood.
Paradox Zephyr, now age 2, is in
training for the summer of 2013 at Burkland Farm in Rowley MA where
Josh Noble will put her through her paces with some round pen work and
long lining. She is greying out nicely and has a beautiful top line,
big stride, pretty head, and sweet personality- very eager to please.

Paradox Zephyr is getting big (14.2) and developing into a delightful filly. She is very sweet and eager for attention. She decided to self load the first time we tried, and was a very good girl for the vet and for her dental work and wolf teeth. She was turned out with a big 3 year old halfbred gelding for the winter, is now back with her dam and waiting for action. She is shedding out quite light already this season. Zephyr will probably go off for a month of roundpen/longline training with Josh Noble at Burkland Farms (Morgan Breeders in Rowley MA).

This is Paradox Zephyr at 16 months: she is over 14 hands already with plenty of bone and elegant presence like her dam. Photos by Nancy Gaffney.

Paradox Zephyr moved home in May 2012 and has sprouted over the winter. She is already 13.3 an age 1, bigger than her sisters were. She looks like her dam at this age. She is very reasonable and easy, with lots of bone and a wonderful sloping shoulder and deep barrel. |

At 2 months Zephyr continues to be very substantial and correct, and greying rapidly. She has a nice big trot and loves to be scratched and handled |

Paradox Zephyr is a big black going grey filly born with the full moon in April 2011. She is by *Canal Laurinston out of Tower Hill's Breeze (*Kilfenora Windy Isles). She is very substantial and independent - loves the bridge and the brook and careens around like all new foals. With the damp Irish weather we are having, and the lush grass, she is growing prodigiously. Breeze is an excellent mom. |
